Ugadi

Ugadi is a festival that is celebrated to welcome the new year. As the new year starts, according to the calendar of Hindus, the arrangements for Ugadi also begin. Indian people thought that Ugadi was a source of joy for them. Before coming to Ugadi, the celebrant goes to the bazaars to buy clothes for wearing at the event. For the children, the mother bought new yellow and red dresses. Ugadi Pachadi is a food that is cooked at this festival. After cooking the food, it is offered to all idols in the house of the cooker. After cooking food and completing various activities, the food is given to the poor. Besides pores, this cooked food is also usable for the cooker and its family.

In 2023, the Ugadi date was fixed by the old religious people of Indians. The upcoming date for Ugadi in 2023 is 22nd March. Other than March, it can also be held in April for some time.

Celebrators face certain effects of Ugadi. Certain activities are performed on this day, including the following. 

Bath

A special bath is taken on this day. For baths, special oil is taken from the bazaar called Ceremonial oil. The worshiper takes a bath with this oil. Besides worshipper bathing, the Indian God’s Idols are also bathed with this oil and made fresh. 

Home decoration

On this festival, the flowers are taken from flower bazaars. The homes are decorated with flowers. Flowers are dispersed on the walls o the house; the home corners are filled with red flowers to look beautiful. The idol rooms are decorated more than full house decoration.

Temple decoration

Other than home decoration, the temples are also decorated on this day. For that purpose, the mango tree leaves are collected from the mango garden; after the collected leaves, they are bathed with ceremonial oil and get fresh. After making ready, all the leaves are taken to temples and dispersed before the idol. In addition, the temple’s corner is also decorated with mango leaves.

Hindus give great importance to it because one who makes proper worship on this festival day can face the challenges that come in life at any point.
