Utpanna Ekadashi

The Ekadashi, whose other name is Upatti Ekadashi, is Utpanna Ekadashi. The worships on Utpanna Ekadashi are in respect of Vishnu. The prayers, which are named Vishnu prayers, are also dedicated to Vishnu on this day. One who offers the Vishnu prayers and Vishnu Fasts on this day will become a successful person according to the beliefs of the Hindus. The month in which the Utpanna Ekadashi is celebrated is named Margshirsha. Last year, Utpanna Ekadashi was celebrated on the 20th of November.

There are other months in which it is observed in different areas of India; in the north of India, it is celebrated in the Margashirsha, and in the other parts, it is celebrated in the Kartik. Other than the Vishnu, the other God worshipped on this day is Mata. The full name of Mata is Mata Ekadashi. The worship performed on this day are short: Vishnu and Vishnu prayers. One whole will offer these prayers and be free from the sins he had committed in the past.

The garlands are offered to the Vishnu in the Mander of Vishnu. The Patra that is used while providing Puja to God is the Tulsi leaves. Other than the Tulsi dumps, Banana leaves can also be used. Without leaves, the Puja activity is not accepted by the God to whom it is offered. Bhog Prasad and fried potatoes are also contributed to the God in the temple and distributed among the people that will provide Utpanna Ekadashi Puja. Tha Diya that is lit up under the plant is named Tulsi plant and is also included in the rituals performed on this day.
