Vagh Baras is the festival of Hindus celebrated in honour of the Mata cow. This day is fixed for the worship of Mata with great devotion. Loan repaying activity is also performed in which transactions are conducted, and after all transactions, new accounts are turned on for placing money, and the old ones are skipped. Bath is given to cows, and Mata is decorated with the new Mata dresses. Indian women are the top follower of Mata, so they offer their ornaments to Mata for Mata decorations.
Vagh Baras ( Ritualistic acts )
In the ritual acts of this Vaagh, cows are decorated and worshipped with various worships. Women took a bath and adorned the idols of Mata, and after total Mata decoration, vermilion and flower garlands were given to them. Till the evening of this gala, Mata is worshipped with Puja. After the evening, the Puja Vidhi act is stopped, and prayers are presented to Mata. Mata fast is given by parents of children for children’s long life. Milk products like Kheer are made from the milk of Mata and served to fast, people while breaking fast. Vishnu is worshipped to get a life free of hurdles.
Importance of Mata Fasting
The Mata fasting person receives blessings as a reward for her prayers and fasting on this Vagh day. Prayers are presented to get salvation for ancestors. Sins of the ancestors are also cleared as a result of prayers. Married offer fast to get husband care and children long life. Unmarried offer it to marry whom they love. Dattatreya is also worshipped on this event after Mata worships.
