Vaikuntha Ekadashi is Ekdashi celebrated for Shri Hari. The Shri Hari is the Lord of the Hindus and is worshipped on this day by his followers. The Vishnu shares the pleasures of the Vishnu at this event. The deservers of Vishnu blessings will offer Vishnu fast on the festival day. There are other features of the Vishnu Fast in which life, prosperity, and salvation are also included. If we follow the Tamil calendar, the event will be held in the month named Margazhi. In 2023, it was set up on the 2nd of January. The Tithi activity called Ekadashi Tithi was started on the 1st of January at 07:11 pm and concluded on the 2nd of January at 08:23 pm.
How Vaikuntha Ekadashi is significant
After worshipping Shri Hari, all the sins of the worship offering person are cleared. He comes under the blessings of God and stays blessed in all fields of life. The Vishnu fast has excellent effects on the mind of the worship-presenting person. The person’s mind is washed from like angles and filled with Vishnu spirituality and power.
Rituals related to Vaikuntha Ekadashi
- The Stotram of the Shri Hari is recited in the temples for the Shri Hari blessings.
- Gifts in the form of garlands and homemade sweets foods are offered to Shri Hari.
- Few items cannot be eaten, and rice is included in those foods.
- The Tithi referred to as the fast-breaking ceremony is called Dwadashi Tithi.
- For breaking the fast, a food is prepared named Satvik meal in which garlic is not added.
