Vakratunda Sankashtahara Chaturthi

Chaturthi on which long Fast is presented to Ganesha is called Vakratunda Sankashtahara Chaturthi. It is celebrated after Puja acts on Krishna Paksha. As the fast time of this festival is concluded, people move to the temple to sing Manters of Ganesha to get Ganesa blessings. Vrat time of this Chaturthi began in the morning after sunrise and ended after the moon rose. Vrat and customs of this day are opposite to Vinayaka Chaturthi.

- Celebrators wear neat clothes after bathing in the early morning and move to the Vishnu temple along Ganesha Idols. Panchamrit is presented to Ganesha as it is his favourite food, according to old Ganesha worshippers.
- Before starting Ganesha Puja, garlands are offered to Ganesha, made of Yellow flowers, and Diyas lighted with Desi Ghee are presented to him. As Durva grass is the most liked herb of Ganesha, it is also given to his idol on this gala.
- Laddo and Satvik food is prepared on this gala, and among Laddo and Satvik food, Laddo is offered to Ganesha, and Satvik food is used for breakfast. Bhoog Prasad is also taken to the temple for distributing it among Bhoog Deservers.
Importance linked to Vakratunda Sankashtahara Chaturthi
This is the day when prayers are presented to Ganesha to escape troubles. Couples with no child have to offer a fast on this festival to Gnaesha and offer prayers to him; they will get a cute baby after festival celebrations from Ganesha as the reward of the Fast. Puja is considered important as due to Puja’s act, Ganesha feels happy and clear and sins of Puja person by Ganesha powers.
