Vamana Dwadashi

The festival celebrated in the Bhadrapad in honor of Vamana is called Vamana Dwadashi. Vamana is another form of the Vishnu in which the qualities related to the Vishnu are present. Charity activities are respected on this day. People donate cooked rice to the poor for charity activities at this event. Katha is recited after the Puja activities in honor of Vamana, and Bhog is divided among the worshippers. 

Importance of Vamana Dwadashi

Salvation and freedom are the main rewards the worshippers gain as the reward of worships of the event. Due to Indra’s worship, the ancestors of the worship offering person are blessed with salvation. Women offer fast to the Parwati for the long life of their husbands. The unmarried also offer worship on this day to get married to whom they love. Older adults offer Puja to Vishnu and Shiva for their blessings on their offspring. 

Celebrations on Vamana Dwadashi

On this festival, the Vamana followers keep a long fast to make the Vamana happy and get his special blessings. His followers made the Vamana images and presented them in the temple to offer Puja to them. In addition, these are also displayed on the temple walls. Satvik food is cooked to give to Vamana as a main charity donation divided among the Puja persons and poor as Bhog. In the gift of Vamana, people perform his Puja, but the majority give new clothes and Vamana arts.
