Varalakshmi Vratam

Varalakshmi is called the most superior form of the goddess named Lakshami and is worshipped on Varalakshmi Vratam. Shranvana month is considered the most important for this event celebration. To make happy the Lakshami and Varalakshmi, people offer Varalakshmi fast on this holy day. This festival is most important for poor people as unlimited wealth is given by the Varalakshmi, who will offer Varalakshmi fast to the Lakshmi and Varalakshmi on the event day.

Why Varalakshmi Puja is offerd on Varalakshmi Vratam

The Puja offered to the Varalakshmi has tremendous importance for the women. The married women have to provide the Puja to Varalakshmi to get blessings for their children from the Varalakshmi. The unmarried women also present this fast. The women who are married and have no children present Puja to Lakshmi for getting children from her. In addition, the unmarried girls offer Puja to Varalakshmi for marrying the one they love. 

Works on Varalakshmi Vratam

Puja and fasting are the major works of the day. The Diyas are also given to the idols of God as Puja light. The cooked rice is taken to the temple and distributed among the people offering Puja to Varalakshmi. They place the rice in the Puja bowls and present it to God. The Varalakshmi arts are also displayed in the temples on the walls. The Lakshmi idols are taken to the temples for Puja purposes. The aim of celebrating this event is to get the special blessings of Varalakshmi and Lakshmi in the form of wealth and great prosperity in regular life.
