Varuthini Ekadashi

Varuthini Ekadashi is an event celebrated by the various Hindus in India as Baruthni Ekadashi. The month in which it is arranged is called Vaishakha. The Vishnu avatars are worshipped on this in the Vishnu Mander. The most worshipped avatar of Vishnu honoured at this event is called Vamana. The fast offered on this day is essential as the fasting person receives salvation from the Vishnu avatar God. 

Importance related to Varuthini Ekadashi

The importance of this day is clear from the sins clearing point by the Vishnu Puja act. Puja to the Vishnu is offered on this day with great devotions in the Vishnu temples, and VISHNU awards the worshipper person by clearing all the sins. The fasting activity is also taken as an essential activity and performed in the Vishnu Mander. The short duration of this day consists of 24 hours, and other than Vishnu, Shiva is also worshipped on this holy day. 

Rituals related to Varuthini Ekadashi

• The worshippers have to clear their teeth using the Tulsi Patra and take a bath in the Yamuna or Ganga. 
• The Bhog is prepared by the fasting person and taken while concluding the fast in Mander.
• To make Vishnu happy, the songs are sung in the Mander before Vishnu’s idol. The clothes as a gift are presented to the Vishnu. 
• To clear the sins, Puja is offered to the Vishnu. Before the Puja ritual, the Vishnu idols are cleaned, and new clothes are wrapped around them.
