According to the language of Hindus, Vighnaraja refers to removing all the hurdles from life. So on Vighnaraja Sankashta Chaturthi, Vighnaraja is worshipped due to his resemblance with Ganesha. Vighnaraja is the avatar form of Ganesha; as Ganesha removes all the obstacles from life, his idol Vighnaraja is also involved in this act. Fast and Ganesha prayers are presented to him to live a good life without barriers.
Significance of Vighnaraja Sankashta
Vighnaraja Sankashta Chaturthi is an important festival for offering prayers and fasting to Ganesha. Shiva is considered the father of Ganesha, so he is also worshipped on this Chaturthi. Chanting Slokas is presented to Ganesh, and the Ganesha worshipper moves to Ganga for the holy bath at sunrise. After sunrise, Vrat Katha and Puja ceremony is started in honor of Ganesha. Indians believe wishes are also fulfilled as a result of Ganesha’s worship.
Ritual acts related to Vighnaraja Sankashta Chaturthi
In the event rituals, the idols of Vighnaraja are washed at the Ganga. After idol bathing, they are wrapped in the yellow dress and placed at the yellow Chowki. Yellow Chowki is also covered in the yellow dress. Lighted lamps and Durva were presented to Ganesha before starting the Puja Act. Yellow flower-made garlands are given to Ganesha idols as their Bathing ritual is complete. In the end, Satvik food, including various vegetables, is prepared and taken to the temple to break the fast. In Charity activity, the Poor Vighnaraja followers are blessed with multiple charity items like new yellow clothes, etc.
