Vighnaraja Sankashtahara Chaturthi

Vighnaraja Sankashtahara Chaturthi is an important festival celebrated by Ganesha followers in honour of Ganesha. Puja Vithi and fast related to this day are also presented to Ganesha. Few people call it Mangal Murti. It is also called Vighna Harta in Ganesha temples. As Shiva and Parwati were the relatives of Gnaehsa, they are also honoured on this festival, and Shiva and Parwatu Puja-fast are presented to them. 

Importance related to Vighnaraja Sankashtahara Chaturthi

As Shiva is considered the father of Ganesha and Parwati is called the mother of Ganesha; so this day is essential to get Shiva and Parwati blessings and worship presented to them for getting their prayers. Event worships like Hawan and Yajna are presented to Ganesha only. Other than Hawan and Yajna worships like Puja and Fast ritual, these can be offered to Shiva and Parvati, who blesses with life, Happiness and great wealth in reward for their worship. 

Ritualistic works presented on Vighnaraja Sankashtahara Chaturthi

Event celebrators come to the Ganesha temple after bathing in Ganga along with Ganesha idols. Before coming to the temple, the Idols of Ganesha are decorated with Gangajaal. Durwa grass and Ganesha sweets cooked on Vighnaraja day are presented to Ganesha before starting the Hawan ritual. At the end of ceremonial works like Ganesha Puja, Ganesha Fast and Yajna rituals, Ganesha Bhog Prasad is distributed among Ganesha worshipping persons. In charity activities, clothes are given to various people. All people relating to the Hindu community are allowed to come to the temple for Ganesha worship.
