Vinayaka Chaturthi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated to honor Lord Ganesha. It falls in the month of Shravan in the Hindu calendar, and devotees observe a fast on this day to seek success and salvation. Lord Ganesha, who is revered as the remover of obstacles, is worshipped at the beginning of all Hindu ceremonies, making him the Pratham Pujya.

The importance of Vinayaki Chaturthi 

On Vinayaka Chaturthi, devotees wear new clothes after bathing in a holy river and visit the nearest Ganesha temple. They offer puja by lighting a diya and presenting flowers to Lord Ganesha’s idol, along with his favorite food, Durva. During the puja, they chant Ganesha mantras and recite Ganesha Katha.

In addition to the worship of Lord Ganesha, devotees also worship the moon on this day. The moon worship ceremony is usually held at night. The fast is broken with a Satvik meal, including fried and milk-made products.
