Vrischikam Sankramam

Vrischikam Sankramam is a Hindu festival celebrated when the Sun moves from one Rashi to another. On this Festival, the Sun starts its motion from the Rashi named Tula Rashi, and the Rashi sun reaches after moving from Rashi named Tula Rashi is called Vrischika Rashi. Sun worshippers perform various rituals, and among those Rituals, Shradh rituals are the most prominent other than Shradh rituals; event celebrators also arrange Pitur Tarpan activities. 

Sun worships on Vrischikam Sankramam

As this Festival marks the entry of the Sun from one Rashi to the other, various worships are presented to Sun during this event. In the evening, sun worshippers gather at a significant ground in front of the temple of Vrischikam day to offer Puja to the Sun. for offering Puja to the Sun, Puja performers take Tulsi seed in the Tulsi Patra and present it to the Sun during the Puja act. Puja with Tulsi seeds is considered paying thanks to the Sun. after Puja, Prayers are dedicated to the Sun in Vishnu temple. A few religious Hindus present fast to the Sun on this Festival. 

Bathing and Charity activity on Vrischikam Sankramam

Sun worshippers take a holy bath in Yamuna, and after taking a bath, they move to the Vishnu temple to offer prayers to the Sun. Vishnu idols are wrapped in yellow dresses, and yellow flower garlands are worn. At the end of all, Sun worshippers perform charity activities in which charity products like new clothes and food products are given to people experiencing poverty. The Festival ends with Sun prayers offered for ancestor’s salvation.
