Few people move to Vishnu and Krishna temples for god’s worship. In contrast, the people living in Karnataka arrange celebrations related to the new year. For this purpose, fireworks took place at night, and temples for god’s worship were decorated with lights.
Charity acts on Yugadi.
On this day, a primary activity is a charity, which marks the start of the new year. According to old celebrators, this was the day when Vishnu defeated evil, and Vishnu arranged a charity ceremony in which he blessed all his war participants with charity products. To repeat the Vishnu act, people perform charity activities by donating new clothes and cooked food to deservers. This act saved them from hardships throughout the year, and Vishnu blessed them.
Celebrations related to Yugadi
Celebrators of this day have to move to their private baths or the Ganga river for a bath as it is the first ritual act of the event. Bathing activity is performed with oil, and bath takers must eat the Leaves of the Neelam plant after bathing. Beautiful designs named Muggulu are made on temple floors and home floors while the doors are decorated with mango leaves, and this decoration of doors is called Torana. Worship like Puja is performed in the temple in front of Vishnu and Shiva by placing Tulsi leaves in Puja bowls for salvation.
